My second module at Escape Studios Game Art Masters course! We were tasked with making a diorama in 6 weeks, with an emphasis on sculpting our own assets in great detail and making a piece of art by the end. I ended up creating a traditional Ukrainian village house from around the 1800s, the scene being a corner of a Mazanka house where a huge banquet was taking place for the Honey and Apple Spas celebration in summer.
I learned many new programs and techniques, in the end using PureRef, Blender, Unreal Engine 5, ZBrush, Adobe Photoshop, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and SpeedTree. My favourite part of the project were the Substance Designer noodles and how simple shapes could create such beautiful textures.
